I am installing a Dual Headrest Vizualogic system in my 06 Odyssey. It has an unused preinstall harness for an aftermarket alarm system. This harness has fuses and both constant and switched 12V available and it it tapped off of the main ignition wire bundle.

I wanted to know if anyone sees a problem with usign this ahrness to power my DVD headrest system.

Thanks!

We think that there is a potential issue during cranking. It might send a voltage surge/spike that may damage the headrests. Our other concern would be that you will have to have your car on but not running if you want to watch something... this MIGHT cause an issue with the ignition system having to be on possibly for an extended period without the engine running. Also, if (heaven forbid) should there be a short somehow with the monitors, then it can make a direct short into the ignition systems.

We think it would be better to operate the monitors from the accessory  wire or use the accessory wire to turn on a relay for them.

Just offering our concerns.

Good Luck!
