Hi all, just joined this awsome site

im looking at installing cruise in my kombi, the drama is there are no moving parts on the drivetrain to attach the magnetic speed sensor/signal generator

i know Rostra & Audiovox make a signal generator that runs in-line with the speedo cable, its just a shame there units are ugly as sin, i had my heart set on an AP300 where the switching was done on a nice timber gear knob.

so i suppose my question to you all is could either the Rostra in-line signal generator be used with another unit, or could the AP300 switch be used with a rostra unit.

Failing that any other suggestions greatly apreciated

Cheers

Andrew

well, if you didn't want to cut a hole in the swing axle..<grin>..

I'd be thinking about using a speedo cable signal adapter; something in my head is saying that some of the later model air cooled (or perhaps water cooled) had a speedo cable signal box on the cable. You could think about using a tach signal for a speed signal on that manual trans vehicle.
