I have a 2000 Cavelier, which I think is a base model. I have to nearly take off the entire dash just to remove the radio. Once I did that, I saw that the stereo's antenna wire would not come off. Is there an adapter that I can add that will let me run rca wires to an amp or do I need to get another radio. And if so, how do I remove the antenna cored? Thank You All For Your Replies!

It does come off at the back of theradio, you just have to get a pair of right angle needle nose pliers in there and grab it at the base of the antenna and pul it straight out. You will then need a GM to standard adaptor for the antenna after you remove it from the OEM deck. If you are adding an aftermarket deck, it should already have RCA's? Isn't that why you are removing the OEM radio ? To replace it with an aftermarket deck ?

I was thinking of using the radio that's in the car already. Can I add an adapter so I can just add rca's?

You can purchase a LOC ( Line out converter ) that converts speaker level lines to RCA 's.
