Hey fellas, which would be a better match for an audiofonics 1000 watt amp. 2 12" JL audio W0's, or 2 12" inch Kicker comp (circle subs). She wants spl over sq.

My personal opinion is that JL is all around a better sub. Then again I am biased. Im not exactly sure what specs you check to get which would be better as far as SPL or SQ. In either case the specs may be mis leading. Id say your best bet is to go and take a listen to each of them and decide that way. I would recommend taking into concideration the box, amp and all other factors that come into play with the subwoofers performance. Let me say again, JL subs are better. Ok now that we have that understood I'll be off. Good luck on your quest man, I hope I was able to give you some useful info.

Well, thanks for the input, but that doesnt help me much. I know all of that, i'm just trying see which would be a better match. I'm looking at power handling, x-max, and sensitivity. I know that amp isnt going to put out a real 1000 watts, so, i wanna get whichever sub will be better off with that amp.

In one of our local shops I was buying a couple 10's, I asked the guy If i brought in my vehicle with the amp wired and everyhing ready to go if I could install the 10's in and see if I like them. He was fine with it and we did. I liked em and I bought em. Maybe you could see if a dealer would do this for you. On my last post I suspected you knew all of that, I was saying what I though just for good measure. Persoannly I think that would be your best bet, actually listening to the subs rather than reading the subs.

JL's in a ported enclosure.  The Audiofonics ADF241 amp (the one they call "1000 watts") by the way is really rated at 400 watts bridged into 4-ohms.  It is NOT 2-ohm stable when bridged, so be sure you hook the speakers up for no less than 4-ohms total load (if you have to use that POS amp.)

Just in case you are not sure yet, JL makes a way superior sub to any Kicker and put those JL's in a nice custom built ported enclosure. Find yourself a set of dual 4 ohm voice coil subs wired in a series / parallel circuit to hit 4 ohm mono in the bridged mode of your amp. The other speaker option will be a pair of svc 8 ohm subs wired in parallel to the bridged output of that amp.
Top Secret, I can tell you but then my wife will kill me.
