why do you want to run 8 speakers?     I think you would be alot better off ditching the 8 speakers, and going with 2 sets of componenet speakers...I am running 4 6.5 inch component sets    (alpine type r) and most people wouldnt be able to touch that   at the expensive of fader control you could create 2    2ohm loads for your amp

Best way is to run the amp at 4 ohms to two good speakers.

But just for the sake of figuring this out...best way is to run 4 to each side at 4 ohms, 31 watts per speaker.  The highest power, though, is to run 4 speakers on each side at 1 ohm.  Ohh, the sound, I don't want to hear it.  Can't be good, no it can't.

For a 4 ohm stereo load, 125 watts per channel:  use option two on each side of the car.  For the highest power, 250 watts per side (62 WRMS per speaker, slightly over their rated RMS) use the first wiring diagram on each side of the car.

But we can't help but wonder....Why?

Build the box so that it performs well in the worst case scenario and, in return, it will reward you at all times.

Also scratching my head and wondering why.  The most I'd go is 2 pair of mid/high drivers.  This is not a situation where more = better sound.

---The holes were there to do it? Is it possible he had more than one amp wired for the rear at one time? This would have been more professional from what I have heard from the boys who I knew that installed systems 10 years ago. Two amps for the rear, one for each side, one amp for the mids and the pillar/panel tweeters at normal power from the head. Are there other holes in the floor that would lead you to believe he had moe than one amp set up for the rear?

---Don't ask me though, things are surely different now, just interested in the topic and wanting to learn more. I'm new at all this. As per usual, food for thought.
