Hi,is it worth it to upgrade my HU powerwire to a little bigger gauge?

If so.. How do I run the power wire? directly off the battery with a fuse or is the fuse on the HU enough??
As my car has obviously a powerwire going from the fuse box to the radio,, I want to upgrade it.. do you recommend this or its not really worth it?
Alpine HU with 4V outs..

My alpine HU has a fan on it, but its not running while the HU is on.. is this fan suppose to work constantly or it will go on at a certain temp?

It wouldnt hurt to upgrade . If u are running speaker off deck .I would go with about 12 gauge if you alpine is one of the high output models. yes always put a fuse on anything u run from the battery, I see more fires from that than u would believe.    as for fan im not 100% sure but probably comes on and off.  What kind of alpine and are u running any mids off it?

I agree - if you're using the amp in the HU then yes, rewire it - particularly if it's one of the higher power Alpines (outboard power etc.).  If you're only using the pre-outs to amps then I wouldn't bother.

I would go ahead and wire it to the battery using 12 or 14 gauge. make sure u put a fuse within 18 inches of battery. about 25 or 30 amp
