Just bought a XK01 of my 05 GMC Envoy. I have not yet purchased a remote start alarm unit yet. I have always been a fan of the DEI products. Just wondering if they support the “data to data” interface to simplify the XK01 installation. If so, I’m assuming it plugs into the bitwriter port? This is probably a stupid question but I haven’t seen these bypass kits in DEI’s install manuals, and I can’t find a list of D2D alarm modules on the XK01’s web site.
Thanks!
by the way, does anyone know of any issues with the Viper 560XV? had a 550ESP and never had a single problem.

I'd imagine DEI will add a D2D plug in the future, since they've bought Trilogix, but they don't have it on any of their products right now.
Audiovox products have had the port for about the past year. On some cars it works perfectly, on other cars all kinds of stuff doesn't work right.......and when you call their tech support, they don't have much to say, except to redo it wire-to-wire.
Also, if you go to the www.bypasskit.com site, and read the installation manual, some of the programming choices are not available in D2D mode.
Even though it's a wonderful feature, I don't think it's mature yet. I hate that they put stuff on the market before they get it right, but that seems to be the way it is.

well that sucks, Thanks for the quick reply!. one would think that would be more popular by now, the d2d bypass kits have been out for a while. maybe the next generation of dei products will have a vehicle data output built in…

but they still need to be installed "wire to Wire" between the alarm brain box and the bypass kit, correct?
