I've got a Delta DA Combo Alarm and the antenna has quit working.  Ever since I got my varad scanner installed it's been giving me trouble.  Usually if I move the little box (not the brain, but the antenna itself) it will start working again.  However this time no luck.

Does anybody know where I can get a replacement antenna?  I will order from wherever as long as they ship to Canada.

I've checked continuity in all 3 wire leads and it seems good, so I know it must be the little circuit board at the end of the antenna.  Funny thing is that the installer who installed the alarm combo more than 2 years ago had the same problem.  However back then he just grabbed a new antenna and everything worked.

If I can't get a new antenna I guess I'll have to replace the whole system.  It should be easy enough since all the wirng is already done.

Thanks

Oh yeah I checked the circuit board inside the antenna and everything looks normal. Nothing burned or broken solder.

Allright, I put everything back together and mounted it back on the winshield.  Now everything works again.  Something inside the antenna must be loose but I can't figure out what cause everything looks good.

should check inside your antenna for cold solder joints.

thanks, just did that.. to the naked eye I couldn't see anything unordinary.. but with a magnifier I found that there was a resistor which had a cracked solder.  Fixed it now.. good stuff.  thanks

your welcome, i find for most circuit boards in vehicles they tend to get cold solder joints because of the hot and cold temperatures that they're consistantly exposed to.
