When installing a security system in a Mitsubishi Galant with chip in key, do you literally have to remove the chip from the key and install it into the viper remote?

no you do not need to remove the "chip" from the key...there are by-pass kits for your car....you made need an extra key to put inside of the by-pass kit or you may be able to use a programmable one for your car.....but we would need to know what yr your car is...........................................
