1997 Chrysler Town & Country 3.3l V6

CrimeStopper Cool Start RS900VII

I installed a Crimestopper CoolStart RS900 VII, about a month ago, and until today have not had any problems with it.  Today, my wife put the van in idle down mode and got out.  When she got back into the van she put the key back in and left.  The next stop she went to turn off the van and it would not turn off.  She tried, the brake pedal, using the remote start button with the key removed and still nothing, I tried as well, I even opened the hood with the van running and no key in the ignition and nothing.  I ended up disconectiong the main wiring harness from the remote start unit and was finally able to get it to turn off.

Any ideas or help would be greatly appreciated,  I am kind of apprehensive about reconnecting everything until I can figure out what went wrong.

We had this problem with AutoStart unit in a 1998 Dodge Caravan and the van still ran after we disconnected the unit ! The only thing that would shut it down was to remove the battery post off the battery terminal. It ended up being a software problem on the Autostart unit, but we ended up replacing the unit with a Compustar and haven't heard back from him since & this was about 4 months ago.

I would replace the unit all together. The defect is in the unit. Put a new one in and save the stress and the guess work. I had 3 Autostart paging unit with the similar problem. Sometimes you are bound to have one of those manufacture unit slip by a worker when they fall asleep on the assembly line.
