Uh well what is the deal with the air bag under the dash?  Take it not removable.  Looks like theses are a real pain in the arse.  Any advice i got my handy dandy chdl6-pk2.    Should be simple enough just getting to the wires is what im concerned about.

Taking a bit a care and precausion I don't see why it would not be a smooth install. Air bag under the dash? I guess Chrysler figures your Legs are way more important that your HEAD if you ever get into an accident.
You don't need to remove the air bag. There is enough slack on the wire for you to set the air bag aside. It's a little inconvenient to work with the air bag next to you. However, what you can do it Find and Test all your first. Disconnect the battery terminal, disconnect the air bag and make your connection. I don't weight 300lb, so it's not a problem with the air bag next to me.
Be careful whose advice you buy, but be patient with those who supply it.air bag 2005 town and country -- posted image.

I had one of these in the other day for a 160xv, by our policy I couldnt install the unit due to the airbag.  From what I could tell, the ignition harness run across the bag and this one didnt have any slack at all to move the harness.  Odd thing was the next day I had a Kia SUV come in for the same install and also had an airbag in that location.  Whats the deal with all these dang airbags???

These are a cake walk. I did two 05 SXt''s w/ these. Simpley unbolt the metal Plate (Airbag is in between the plates) set aside and you should be fine. Once done you have full access.

I would suggest NEVER disconnecting the airbag even w/ the battery disconnected, unless you have a computer to reset the airbag light.  (Sometime they still come on)

buldog security has step-by-step w/ pictures on how to do this,I was scared it would crush me but I got over it.

On another note - If you have ever had a bad accident and the dash  caved into your legs, you'd want one of these...

I just did one last week. CAKE CAKE CAKE
Screw the IGN harness. ALl the wires you need are at the BCM behind the dash by the driver kick. You can catch the following there:
12V
IGN
ACC
Brake
Starter - both (+) and (-)
The OBDII is right there too to hook the bypass up to also. Turn the key and DL and sliding doors will work.
You can get every single wire you need from there. There is no reason to even take any panels off that car.

not quite as easy as u make it sound unless u got some funny shaped arms.  We pull car seats all the time with bags in the end i approached this just the same.  Disconnect battery wait 15 or so  disconnect and remove.   My CHDL6-PK2 worked great for the first 15 mins then the Lock feature would not work I  disconnected the bypass and grounded the green wire and it locked the doors bypass is ok.  Tested the lock out put on the RS and its good???  i did not diode the line is this needed.  WHat about a relay would that be needed?

the lot # was 592 Trilogix

The lock inputs were backwards in this version

Green unlock

Blue  lock

I do tons of these for dealerships. I don't like the thought of and airbag that is sandwiched between metal plates next to my face so I unplug them. No warning light to worry about. However on the Kia's if you disconnect the airbag you get a light that the dealership has to reset. In this case, which is rare, I tell the customer of the situation and that they may have to return to the dealership to reset the comp.
