Hello All,
This is to all the shop owners or people that are creative.
What are some of the remote starters promo that you have or have had in the past?
I am running out of ideas here and need a fresh new start :)
Thanks

we advertise a low price at our shop.  REMOTE STARTS $69 out the door.  Brings alot of people in.  It is an Alert 250R, single 1 button remote.  We charge $75 to install it.   8/10 times we can upsell the curious ppl who come in asking about it to a Compustar 1WAMS.

The $69 signs DO BRING PPL IN.  THen you can sell them XM, Sirius, etc....   Remote Start season is when we see the most NEW customers from those $69 signs.

we ran a combo promo... starter installed for 120 and you get either 30% - 50% off your next purchase of 150 bux or more ....  or a gift card for 3 free oil changes and 18 point inspections...  brought alot of people in... we also have 2 wash boys working for us... they clean the car really good when we do the installs...   they do the interior while we install (PITA!!!!) and then wash really quick while the customer is paying for it... that brought ALOT of people in... and thats all year round service.. really nice during the winter...  the kids are family of one of the installers and one of the owners so they work for cheep.. there like 15

I feel it's always easier to sell down, rather than up.....you never know! Give them (your customer) features and bennefits of the BEST.

Put you least exspensive unit on your reader board or in your ad. But when the customers standing in front of you, sell down!

true 'nuff.....   i sell way more of my $399 - $599 starters than i do the $179 unit......  i start at the top with ALL the features and start taking away until they say "back up, i'd really like to keep that feature"

We just finished up a promotion the other day.
Once a week... in conjunction with a local radio station morning show, we've been running a contest. What is the craziest thing you would do to get a free remote start. I mean it is like -20C here some days..... so it has been rather interesting what people will do for free stuff. (one guy was hang gliding in a mild snowfall.... it was interesting.)
Yeah, we had to eat 8 starters and install (well, the advertising budget had to...) but, it definately got people thinking about remote starters (most popular morning show in area), and really gave us an edge over the 2 large chain stores in town. It worked well.... we are now a week and a half behind, and can't put them in fast enough (7 or 8/day).
Of course, we are kinda Krazy at times......
