Hello,
I am trying to install an intermittant rear wiper relay in a car which doesn't have an intermittant rear wiper - it currently has a switch, whereby you switch it on and the wiper wipes constantly.
I have been given a relay from a Vauxhall Astra which controlled the intermittant rear wiper - it's an Italamec 90 240 092, and has the following five terminals;
15
31
53e
53c
I
Anyone have any idea what each one of these should be wired to?
All help appreciated - thanks!
Oli.

Terminal Designations (Excerpts from DIN Standard 72 552)
The terminal designations do not identify the conductors, because device
with different terminal designations can be connected at the two ends of
each conductor. If the number of terminal designations is not
sufficient (multiple-contact connections), the terminals are
consecutively numbered using numbers or letters whose representations
of specific functions are not standardized. <<huh?>>

What's this, ISO list twice in a week? The last one started with me being pedantic about 86 being the pos coil side, thanks Craig and Kevin, joking aside thanks John, I'm going to file this.  Zcacogp, be very very careful if this is the current shape Astra, it's all data at the switches contolled by front and rear fusebox processors. You really have to go to the front fusebox to pick up a solid 12v+ ign supply (Black in a loom going behind the battery).

Just thought of something that might be relevant. UK Fords of the late 90s had the intermittent rear wiper relay mounted on the underdash fuse box. When no such facility, there was simply a bridging bar across the connector terminals, if pre 05 your Astra might have that, also look to right hand rear over wheel arch, I'm sure that on some Astras there was a plug-in facility there.

Dear Oli,
I am not an expert in wipers, but IŽll try to help you.
In order to to what you want first of all you have to check your motor connections because you have to identify 53e terminal. this terminal is a signal that is originated from the motor to the controller.
L15 you connect to switched battery, L31 to GND, 53c to the (+) of the windshield wiper pump, it is an input to your controller, 53e you get from your motor, I is the signal you have to provide to turn it on, I suggest you just add a switch and connect the other side together with L15.
I hope it helps.
Cheers,
