i have install aremote start alarm into a mitsubishi 2002 galant and the car cannot start without you put the key into the ignition and take it out

audiomaniac, while researching the wiring for my 2002 Galant, I was told by the Remote Starter manufacturer that if you need to have the key in the ignition (not turned on) and the unit then works normally, you will need to install a bypass module.  Our vehicles have a OEM system (keyless entry) that is registered to your keys.  Your owners manual also mentions that if you make a new key, you must get your car to "know" the new key.  Read the Owners Manual.  I believe you need a bypass module.

There are two modules now that you can bypass this system to remote start the car. One is a keyless version while the other requires a spare key to be left within the car's dash. I suggest the keyless version for anyone wanting to bypass the Immobilizer but they are also more money than the key required bypass modules.
