I have installed a remote start in my 2001 Bonneville. It will not work. The ignition comes on but it will not start or crank. I believe that I do not have the right wire for the starter. All of the wire lists I have looked at says the yellow wire in the ignition harness is the wire to use. The yellow wire in the ignition harness is constant 12v positive. Some of the lists says to use a purple wire. The purple wires at the ignition harness do not test positive when I turn the key to start. I downloaded a schematic of the ignition for the vehicle at it shows purple wires from the Body Control Module to the starter for crank voltage. Is this the wire to use? If so, where is the BCM located? I looked up underneath the glove box but I did not see it. Do I need to remove the glove box to get to it? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Recheck all your wiring again and make sure that you are using the wires that come directly off the ignition switch itself. There are two ignition wires (pink and white, starter is yellow and the accessory is orange. All the wires are small. Use a volt meter to check the wires are correct befor connecting to them. There may be orange wires in the harness that are battery wires so check them all. This vehicle also has Passkey III. You need a bypass module to interface with it too, otherwise the car won't start.
