hi guys i cant decdide what multimeter to buy i wanna eiter get snap on one or a fluke but there is so many different fluke ones
can any one help me with this,
i wanna buy a second hand one as i only have about 70 quid
What are you wanting to do with it?
If it were between Snap on and Fluke I would go with the Fluke. However, Flukes are overkill for most automotive applications.
I have a $25 Craftsman autoranging meter that does voltage and frequency. The only time my Fluke sees a car is when I have a quick pulse that I'm trying to measure - the Fluke is MUCH quicker then the craftsman, but also over 15x the cost! This rarely happens.

i haved a crappy one which is not reliable,
i fit car alarms multimedia systems and im currently training to repair 12 / 24 volt equipment
fluke 115 or a 175???
Maplin, UT58, £30. That leaves you 45 squid to multiply 100 times to get the Bosch or similar diagnostic unit you will need to to do test and repair on modern vehicles with DATA systems.
Sorry Kevin I had to do it.
Actually I've had the above for over 15 years and it's totally adequate for our work.

Amateurs assume, don't test and have problems; pros test first. I am not a free install service.
Read the installation manual, do a search here or online for your vehicle wiring before posting.
I have a cheap Craftsman one. It does the job for what I need it for.
