I have a 1999 Dodge Grand Caravan that I want to make the rear and front outlets powered all the time.
Right now they are controlled with the key.

What is the best way to rewire them.

It is just a pain in the neck when I want to charge my cell phone or run my laptop to have the key turn on to acc every time.

Thanks...
John

If you take the plug in out of the console the center pin is the (+) and the outside pin is the ground. What you will need to do is run a new wire to the rear plug and then attach the other end of the wire to the wire that plugs into the dash outlet. Now you have to cut the wire off about 2" from the back of the dash outlet and attach a new wire to a constant power wire or source. Fuse this wire between the dash outlet and the constant source with a 15 amp fuse. Use a 18 gauge wire for this.

Are the front and rear tied together. i.e. if I rewire the front will the back also be affected.

Quick way to check is to use your DMM and see if there is continuity between the two wires
