What do youall charge for electrical labor? Exampal: dvd vidieo, rs install, head unitinstall, ect. I am looking for quality instal prices. Ya know soldering all wires and heat shrinking all connections. I know all the short cuts to make money but usualy I push quality work, and I get paid for it.  But I work in the world of $75 per hour mechanical rate and 55per hour body shop rate. W hat is a reasonable electrical install rate? I am good but I need work and  want to price compeditivly. I a am tring to find the median of pricing between the oldstreet hustle and the pro rate. I am seeing that I am losseing work to the street hustelers since i am pricing reasonable instead of just cheap. What do you all think?

Car dealers here start from £100/150 per hour ($150/225)
I work on $60 per hour flat rate plus call out, remember we're on $9 per gallon here.
Trouble is people here are running scared because of the recession (the car audio market value is 30% of what it was 2 years ago, every new car sold here has a Cat l alarm ex factory).
15 years ago I rejoined an old friend in his workshop, then, at any one time we'd have 6 cars filling the place 3 for audio, one for AC, supply and fit, one phone install and one alarm,9:30pm on Saturdays, all night some days.
He sold it 3 years ago, that was after keeping it afloat for 2 on his house mortgage.
It's the old story, charge what the market will bear.

Amateurs assume, don't test and have problems; pros test first. I am not a free install service.
Read the installation manual, do a search here or online for your vehicle wiring before posting.

Thanks guys. I have been getting jobs lately from customers not wanting to pay the labor rates at the big box stores,(best buy ect.) Although they are simple head unit installs and the occasional remote starter. I guess $50 per hour is maybee too cheap? The shops I contract at like to charge retail $50 per hour. Even if the install is way less than an hour. I usualy charge $35 per hour actual time at these shops.
