What causes a starter to stick and not turn over, i've had this car for about two years now, and this is the third starter i'm into because of that problem, i've repaired one recently only to have the problem start recurring about two months after, any thoughts?

Kind of car?

Could be starter missaligned with flywheel, too tight/loose,,,,,,,

Flywheel gear could be damaged...

Could be a lack of power/ground.....loose bad connection....burnt fuseable link..

bad solenoid

It is the solenoid, but what in the solenoid goes bad? I'be opened it up, ain't much on there that could go bad, except the brushes, unless my untrained eye can't spot it.

Usually the soleniod contact burn, they could have 100+ amps runing through them.

Sometings the return spring is weak, the drive lever could stick.
