I'm new to the forum but spent hours searching this site for info to no avail.

I have installed some factory DL3 power folding mirrors but no switch to operate them. I prefer to to modify my dash with ant type of switch as shown in the diagram I'm posting because I want them to either fold in/out off the Lock/Unlock function of my remote or in/out from the On/Off from the ignition.

I found some videos from youtube using a special relay but not for GM trucks.

Will this relay work?

Diagram is fine but here's a question.
Why not do it automatically as the notes suggest?
That's how I'd do it.

The hand drawn schematic is what I do not want to do.
Can this be used to make it work off the ignition on/off? or lock/unlock feature of the remote FOB?

Yes the lock and unlock wires instead of fold and unfold at your relay diagram, assuming those mirrors have built in timers.
If not you need to substitute a DEI 528t timer relay for each relay.
If you pm me with your email address, I'll send you a couple of diagrams if the mirror fold doesn't have a timer, i.e. still draws power when it's completed the operation.
Except Without a hands-on I can't be positive, my impression would be to run with what's in the kit.

The photo is of the Amazon link I posted. Supposedly one for each mirror and they are universal.

I'm wire schematic illiterate. No knowledge of what to do. Population of 120,000 people and no radio, stereo or electronics store knows what to do.

What year/model is your Silverado?

I can't pm you as I have to have 50 posts.
wheresmychevy@gmail.com

The mirrors I believe do not have timers. As I have read other posts on other truck forums. PAC TR-7 modules were used with the hand drawn schematic

My truck is a 2011 silver ado with factory power locks and remote start

The remote start will have lock unlock outputs.
Again assuming a two wire lock and unlock output from your remote start those wires should be green lock and blue unlock, both NEG (-) pulse. TEST.
If that's the case connect to the green and blue from the control unit. That will make it fully auto.
You can dispense with the control switch, just join the switch wires.
My diagrams were similar to what you've seen probably in the archives on this site, except I used 528t instead of PAC-7, they're both combined timer relays.

Control Unit? i.e. the universal relay I speak of?

I'm sorry but I am not electronically inclined.
Will I need to add timers?
1 universal relay per door?

Again without hands-on I'm guessing that the black control unit has built in timers, just try what I suggested in my last post.

Thanks

What's your email address but first do what I've suggested, you're over thinking this, common amateur mistake.

Well just to compare what you have with what I have is all.

Original Idea but never left any info.

Then this is what lead me to the universal control switch.

Here is what I'm told I really need.

That's a timer without even built in relays. (DEI) 528t has them built in.
Why don't you do what I suggested on my first or second reply and try the original module first before possibly wasting time and money.
I'll bet the original module has timers and relays built in.

Okay. The part I first posted is not going to work. It cannot be set for no more than 5 sec. and it takes the mirror 15 sec. to open and about 11.5 sec. to close.

So all i would need is 2 of the DEI 528T pulse timer relays ?
1 to open the mirrors and 1 to close them?
Run a power and ground to each mirror?

I found a guy at a radio shop that aid if I could get you to send the the schematics he could figure it all out. Though he's never done the mirror mod he does know electronics and how to read the schematics.

As for me, I'm just unable to decipher all that stuff without a step by step instruction.

Thanks for all your time.

Yes the DEI units would do the job, use the diagrams I sent you.
I also have to add that every folding mirror I've ever seen mostly Japanese and German take 3-4 seconds!

Sorry, You never sent me the diagrams or I didn't receive them.

Yeah, I watched some youtube vids and I notice the foreign cars are quicker.

Again, Thanks for your time.
