Has anyone fitted a GPS module/pulse antenna, to a oem electric speedo?

Something like this marine one, a few other manufactures make them for the gauges like auto meter

And it will be a minimum of 5-10 seconds behind your real speed.
I use mine as a true speed back-up, most OEM speedos are about 2-3% fast.

Is that due to that unit?
GPS units themselves should be quick. I haven't noticed any delay on any of mine once they lock in. And of course tunnels and buildings are problem.

You can work it out it's probably 1-2 seconds, time from signal pickup to chip to output.
Cold foggy UK winters don't help either.

Hi old spark, did you cut the speed signal wiring at the speedo and joined in the GPS signal wire?

No. I didn't do it.

Is yours an 8k or 16k speedo?

I'm unsure, the vehicle is a 2012 hiace diesel, how can I determine if its 8k or 16k

Maybe google or a hiace forum.
But as I understand that unit, you'd better find out before you buy.

And I presume you haven't understood how it connects if you are taking about cutting the speed signal wiring - unless I've read the wrong spec.

Yes, no cutting those three leads go to the speedo head, red = 12V+ ign., black = earth and grey = signal.
