Hi all

I've just finished up installing some new air horns in my car, they're standard air horns with a small compressor powered through a relay.

The air horns work fine ... But the compressor is really loud and vibrates to the point you can feel it when sat in the car.

I've watched lots of install videos on YouTube, and no one seems to have the same problem.

Is a very loud and vibrating compressor normal?

I've tried oiling the compressor but this has had no effect.

Does anyone have any Info or ideas?

Thank for your help

-Joe

Either faulty (bearings) or you need to mount to a solid place.

Amateurs assume, don't test and have problems; pros test first. I am not a free install service.
Read the installation manual, do a search here or online for your vehicle wiring before posting.

I am voting for mount it to a more solid location. If it is mounted to anything that resonates when you tap it, it will be noisy.

I usually make up my own brackets, mount to a bolt through the inner wing (fender) and point the horns down behind the headlight depending on vehicle.

I have always rubber mounted to inhibit vibrations to the panel
