Hello,

I just purchased a alpine xm rx for my 7878, installed it and it works, but it has engine noise (whine) when in xm mode. The guy I got the system from decided to splice the Ai-net cable in 2 places... to get it into a hole I suppose...would this create the noise, or should I look for another problem?

Check to see if the xm receiver has a good ground. Make sure the power wires are not near any of the other wires. Such as the one that runs between the xm receiver and your head unit, and the antenna wire etc. Let us know what happens
