On the radio on until door opened diagram on this website (https://www.the12volt.com/relays/page5.asp#drto) what dioed part numbers would I use for a 1965 mustang. It is a standard 12V DC wired car. Also, how are the diodes physically connected to the wires (crimp,solder, etc.)? This will be first adventure into altering wiring with relays and diodes. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

usually people use 1N4001 rectifier diodes, they are cheap and work just fine, i guess you could crimp them but i like to solder the leads.

just watch the polarity designated by the banded side.
