Number (1) terminal is connected to the main (Engine / Starting) battery.

Number (2) terminal is connected to the second battery.

The (A) goes to the alternator, the (R) is the remote sensing wire which attaches to the regulator.

Please ensure you upgrade all wiring to and from the batterie(s) (power & ground) and to the alternator.

Lastly, if the battery is not a sealed AGM battery, ensure you secure and vent the battery to the outside to reduce combustable gases from building up.
