o.k.  this is the situation......i have a 2001 chevy tahoe i bought brand new and have put very few miles on. i paid cash for the vehicle so there is not a loan holder. i have spent about $17000.00 on upgrades i.e. multiple lcd screens, custom paint, wheels, body mods and audio system. i am kinda upset b/c my insurance company has told me they will only cover $2500.00.  what the hell?!?  does anyone know of a good insurance company that might be able to help me out? i have called several collector insurance companies and they told me that my truck wasn't old enough. someone plz help

North of the boarder, our insurance companies limit equipment to $1500.  But most offer an additional rider (about $4 per 100) to cover exess stuff.  The good news is that you give the proof of value before your covered, and if someting happens they pay out.

We get an even better deal, if we are members of BCAA, we can buy our comprehensive insurance though ING - Western Union at BCAA and it is usally less $ than what ICBC charges and there is no limit to aftermarket items added to the vehicle. Look closer at the private insurance companies and the coverages they offer.

Look for a bigger ins company, most sould says yes as long as you pay the higher premiums.

Regular insurance will only cover a certain amount, you need what is called renter's insurance to cover your stereo equiptment.

My 96' Blazer is insured for $14,000; it's only worth 5,800...  Go through Progressive.. That's who I am through.. All they have to do is select different things when they are writing your policy.. they just have to change the whole vehicles worth.. if you need specific info let me know and i'll call my agent

i called progressive and they told me they would only cover $5000.00 worth of "add ons".  i have more than that in just audio and video, not to mention the other things on the outside. i'm getting closer though. anyone else have any suggestions?

I used to have what was called an audio policy from Allstate that would cover up to $10,000 in equipment.  Cost was an additional $14 per month.
