i've got a question.

why is it that in standard electonics the wire with the stripe is typicaly negative and in car audio its reversed?

I guess im not sure what your referring too here.....the first thing that came to my mind is every single deck harness i've ever seen, and those have the striped wires as negative. Some component speakers have the striped wire as negative, but the majority is otherwise.

most wires I come across weather home or car striped is neg.
