I want to completely remove my ignition barel and convert it to push start. Anyone got any idea of what i need to do to achieve this. I am not worried about not needing a key to start the car as I have a clifford Avant guard alarm. At a guess i need a switch to turn the 12 volt feed on and then a button to crank the engine. Does anyone do a switch that goes from off--> feed 1 on--> feed 1 & 2 on. Aslo what current rating would the switch need? any help with this would be appreciated!!

you could do it with a small switch, and just use relays.one relay to trigger ignition, and the other to trigger the starter

With a torch and a big enough hammer...it WILL friggin fit!!

Rob's got it right. Use the Ignited kits and you won't go wrong. We've installed thse kits into alot of vehicles locally and they all work great and are universal application kits.

You still have to use your key to turn the ignition switch over to the ON position so you will need to unlock the steering column to do this.

There is always a way around something, you just have to be creative enough... or use a bigger hammer.
