My cruise contol on my truck stopped working. what can i look for

It is most likely the lever (turn signal cruise lever).  It could also be the stepper motor under the hood.  You can do a few power tests to see if the switch is good.   If you go to a gm dealer they will have a kentmoore tester that plugs in at the stepper motor and tests the electrical.   You can also sometimes buy these testers on ebay for around $100.  If you buy a service manual it should have a step by step procedure to diagnose the problem.

Also check to make sure your brake lights work and check to make sure the brake switch is adjusted properly.
