In conjunction with partical board, Matt will be the strongest and sound the best depending upon where you use it.

Matt can be got at any good auto parts store.

Inbetween the fiberglass matte you can use Deadliner or any form of deadening material to thicken the box and also make it stronger.

i have a question... when you use fiberglass. Do you mean that your actually fabricating a fiberglass box or just fiberglassing a surrounding for a box? Im trying to figure out how fiberglass can with-stand the force of subs and weight of amps. Thanks ~Ed

If you have enough layers of FG it will be more solid and airtight than wood. Most installation use both to cut down on the costs of FG.

Got a reply back from Alpine. Looks as though I am not going to be able to use my free M-Bus changer after all.

An adapter is available for Ai-net to M-Bus but not the other way around. I can't believe Alpine has done this as the M-Bus changers are much more affordable than the Ai-Net changers out right now. I guess I'll not have a changer after all. Can't justify the $300+ for a changer when I have an indash cd player.
