It sounded pretty good. The only issue I had was that it was easy to overpower them and cause distortion at higher volumes. That is why I have since redone the entire set up.

Looks really nice. I see its ported. How did that turn out? Do you think that was the cause of the distortion?

The ported setup worked well but with ported enclosures it is easy to overpower your speakers and they will become undamped. Basically the speaker is unable to control the forward and back motion and it becomes over extended causing distortion.

Did you get exact volume measurements or did you just get close?

I did not get exact measurements but it was pretty close. I did some preliminary modeling in SolidWorks to determine the basic size of box I could put in the space I had.

Looks good.  I like the curves.  How did you finish the top of the amp rack?  Is that just MDF painted black on top?

The top of the amp rack is made of 1/4" mahogany plywood painted black.

yeah they say you should really have a calculus degree before attempting a ported fiberglass box, I read somewhere though that a guy used the long narrow ports though by glassing the box, cutting the hole, placing the port in and fiberglassing on top of that, of course the calculations have to be perfect.  But anyway hats off to ya for giving it a shot I think I might in the future as well.
