Getting ready to do a custom install on a 1991 Caprice,
and need some advice before I start. First of all, getting ready to put in 1 Pioneer flip out, 2 Visor tv's,
2 front headrest tv's, 2 rear headrest tv's, 1 rearview mirror tv, and a 22" lcd flat screen tv in the trunk lid.
I've got to Farenheit video amplifiers, Stinger video cables, and planning to run all the power source and ground wires together. Is there anything else I need to ensure that I don't run into any problems? Also, should I ground all the tv's as short as possible, seperately, or should I connect them all together to one ground point? Planning on also facing 3 12" subs firing foward in the trunk. Does anybody have any experience in putting a tv of this size (22"), in the trunk lid with subs? I am hopeful that the pressure from the subwoofers won't crack the lcd? Any advice and answers are greatly appreciated.

Thsonnen you must be from the south.  I to have a bubble that I'm going to glass out the trunk.  What 12's are you running? With all those tv's I hope you have it sitting on some Hi Tops.

Yeah he's got be from down here. We're the only ones that squeeze in more screens than passengers. How heavy is that screen? If its heavy you may need to upgrade whatever holds the deck lid up. I'd make the screen grounds as short as you can.

From the East Coast, North Carolina to be exact. The tv for the trunk lid is quite heavy, and I am planning to add an actuator on the lid or perhaps some type of shocks that are found on most hatchbacks. So you say to
keep the tv's ground as short as possible and seperate?

I don't think it matters if they are seperate or not. If you happen to have two right next to each other, ground em together. I just wouldn't run a ground from a visor screen to the trunk.

yeah, but that is what can make a POS car not look like such a POS to someone that can appreciate a good install; unless it is a POS install in a POS car, then I think the car should be brought out into the woods, tied to a tree and put down (you know to put it out of it's misery).

it sounds like he has some big plans for this one though.

eh? what did you just say?

for me a good install has to include a nice car, the car attracts people to the install.  But hey, if someone comes to my shop with a 90 ford tempo wanting a $10 000 system ,i will not argue , just make the payment to me hehe.

ophidia31, all I can say is nice. I don't know where your from, but I know you almost have to be from the south or the west to appreciate a car like that.

lol, nope. im from the northeast. posted_image the 91-96 caprice/impala style b-body is my favorite car of all time. id still have it if i wasnt rear ended and they totaled it on me. posted_image the only outside details i had left was smooth bumpers, impala ss wheels so i can get larger 13" 4 piston brakes in there and a repaint of the same old man silver.

I don't understand how an impala is a POS car. Have you done a project like this before? Can't wait to see this finished.

we did a car like that here in arkansas and we removed the back glass and cut the rear deck for 4 cliff designs 10s and resealed the rear glass, shaved all the door handles, and put bounce under it. complete tweed interior with green ghost flames in the paint.

Damn, you know I really hate when people ask a question on this forum and someone makes a dumb**s, off-topic comment that has nothing to do with the actual post. I'm from Atlanta and I have a 95 Caprice SS, and cars like that are part of the culture down south. So you need to think twice before you before you make a comment like that "Alpine Guy". If you think the car is such a POS then why even do an install on one?

hey guys no need for all the anger. I understand everyone has an opinion, but it doesnt matter. Thats the thing I love about this board is that everyone gets along and just cause somebody does a crappy job on a project or something everybody doesnt flame them for it.  They actually help each other out on this board, thats what makes continue to just keep coming back to this website every day.  That and all the information on here. So lets just keep it to helping each other out instead of just yelling back and forth at each other.
