I'm new, how much resin do i need?

im just starting my project and was wondering how much resin do i need i want to make one to fit in the little section corner in my trunk like this one

i went to wal-mart only cause its close and i seen they have some stuff there and bought some fleece and a net wt of 2lb 3oz can of resin and comes with hardener for it would this be enoght or do i need to grab up some more.

I am the one that did that project.  If I was you I would another can to do the project.  Also make sure you measure out right.  for every 4oz you use, use 1/4 tsp of hardner.  for going over the fleece thin out the resin a little with acetone.  when you mix the resin for the fleece I used 10oz of resin and 2 oz of acetone and 3 (1/4) tsp of hardener.  In a couple of days after I put the box in the car I will post a finished picture of both boxs the one for the sub and the one for the amp.

o one more thing when you say acetone is it pure acetone or can you use nail polish remover acetone

You might use nail polish remover, but acetone from lowes would be alot cheaper and better

k so i just put my first layer on should it feel like its getting real hot or did i do somthing wrong

no your right it will feel like its real hot to the touch and then when it fully cures it will be cool to the touch and hard

If it's really hot, maybe use a tad bit less hardener next time. Too much hardener can make the final product brittle. There should be some heat from the chemical reaction though.

ill put up some pictures soon i stoped right now just cause i was thinking of getting some new subs and the box was for one so i might turn it in to an amp rack and make a new one on the other side of the trunk
