A lot of situations come to our minds. Can you take a picture for us? or at least describe what you are doing so we understand the situation (where the fleece is poking out, where it is fleeced, shape, etc.)

Angled die grinder with a sanding disc works wonders on that stuff.  It will even sand the staples down.

Thanks for the pics. Looks like you have a bit of sanding ahead of you on those curves.

Next time you glass for the ring around the sub, put an 1/8" rabbet cut into the ring and staple the fleece to the rabbet cut with 5/32" (or any short staple no longer than 1/4") Trim the fleece as close as you can to the staples, then glass.

Where the fleece meets the ring, use duraglass, not bondo, to fill in the transistion. Bondo isn't strong enough to handle the vibrations. Then apply bondo to smooth it out. If painting, spray primer on it. Use pinhole filler for any pinholes that show up in the primer. Sand to 600 and then paint.

Good luck with future projects.
