Hello - I am seeking details (real basic blow by blow instructions please) of where to locate and HOW to tap into appropriate power sources for my Motorola Hands Free Cell Phone car kit. The (very sparse) installation guide says:

2) "Connect the GREEN ignition sense wire (2 amp fuse) to a source that will remain HIGH (not switched off) while the vehicle is cranking, but will go low when the ignition is turned off.  (this source must be found through testing due to the many different models of vehicles.)" My car is a 2004 SAAB 9-3 Convertible)

4) "Connect the RED positive primary lead (7.5 amp fuse to a point in the fuse box that is always active 4-10 amp fuse)"

5) "Connect the BLACK ground wire to the vehicle chassis"

Questions:

2): Can the cigarette Lighter be used for this purpose?   If not, what other power sources do you recommend trying for this purpose? Once identified, how do you recommend connecting to the cigarette lighter or other source? Do you recommend using something like a Radio Shack "Tie Down 4-3052" for the connection?

4) What is the recommended method of connecting an Accessory power lead to a car Fuse Box? (I would prefer to stay away from connecting directly to the Battery under the hood, if possible.)

5) How can you determine if a particular bolt is connected to the vehicle chassis (i.e. true GROUND)?

Please be kind -- I have done this only once before -- about 20 years ago I added an aftermarket Cassette Deck to my Datsun 210 Wagon. 8-)

Thanks in advance.
