I am trying to find a photo cell that will work with 12 volts. I know that they make them because most of the vehicles with auto headlights have one one the dash or somewhere to turn on the headlights. If anyone has run across them on the net or anywhere I would like to know where you saw them. Thanks in advance.   Brian

You can get photoresistors at Radioshack.  Use the photoresistor inline with another reisotor to form a voltage divider and feed an op amp with it.  Put a pot on the other op amp input to set your switch threshold and you'll have a fully working photocell.
