I really need help here. I am not good at wiring or electronic diagrams.

I have a Pyle PLRD92 overhead dvd player that I have working but I have yet to hook up the lighting because I couldn't get it to work.
the player has three wires; red (12v), blue(ground), and yellow (light control)

I have tried looking at the car diagram it has 4 wires for the dome light and I cant get it to work correctly. The closet I can get is to connect it up put the lights never turn off.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

I have 4 wires to use that come to original dome light. This light has three options on, on with open doors, and off

Colors could be open to interpretation but the look like
Pink
Brown
Black
Maroon

You are going to need to do some testing and you are going to have to know if the light control wire from the overhead is an negative or positive input.
After you do that you will need to get your digital multi-meter and test the wires at the OEM light. You will need to find out what the wires do. You should have 1 that will change when a door is opened and 1 that will always be at ground. Then you will need to run the red wire to a constant.

Connect the white and gray wires at the vehicle's dome light together. This will be your negative dome light trigger to your DVD. Check that the DVD accepts a negative dome light trigger. Some units don't or have a switch to select polarity. The orange wire at the dome light is the 12 volt + battery feed. The black wire is ground.
