I'm trying to add a resistor to the positive parking light wire on a led 1157. 12volt car. I want to dim the parking light bulb so when I use the brake or turn signal I can notice the difference. Right now the brightness is about the same and hard to see when it's on. I don't know what size resistor. I was going to cut the wire and add the resistor. I've tried a 50w 6 ohm resistor used for hyper flash and it changed it very little. Thank you

Try between 300 and 600 ohms.

Depends on the led bulb rating and type. Single led or multiple leds for each half of the bulb.
A 1 watt 300 ohm is a good starting point as you are only trying to reduce the current flow to dim it more. If the 1 watt gets to hot or fails then go with 2 150ohm 1 watt in parallel or 3 100ohm in parallel. Until you find a reliable wattage that works.
