I am installing neon the trunk. I dont have a multimeter, so I was wondering if anyone knows if the positive lead is red or red with black stripe?

Thanks

The RED is a (-) trigger, if that helps you.

So does (-) mean it is a ground or a hot wire. I hooked up the - neon lead to the trunk light ground source. I hooked the + neon lead to the + trunk light power source.

Everything works the way I want and it looks great.
I am a little confused about the RED(-)thing, because the RED is the 12v power so shouldn't it be RED(+)?????
Sorry for the ignorance on this subject but maybe someone can explain.
Thanks for the help.

with neons as long as the wires stay the same the whole way through its fine. for example if your putting in a underbody kit for example, as long as you use the black wire with the stripe as a positive for all of the neons, and the solid black as a negative for all the neons then it'll work fine, and vice versa.
