Use Google, it works wonders. Here is a search for your bulb.

okay i hooked up my hid kit and had to put diodes so that the hi-low beam would put out power to the ballast when the switch is flipped... and then suddenly the light went out andd i smelled burnt rubber.. the diode melted in half right at the middle... does anyone know why this happened??? was it too much urrent??? the headlight harness puts out about 12v constant current...

Did it specifically say to put a diode inline? What size diode did you use, 1, 3 ,or 6 amp? What is the current draw of the hid lights?

the draw on the hid said 35w... and it is less than the 55w that a normal headlight produces... as for the didode im pretty sure it was a 3 amp...

1N4001 @50 volts up to 1N4007 @1000 volts = 1 amp

1N5400 @50 volts up to 1N5408 @1000 volts = 3 amp

D620 @200 VDC, D660 @600vdc, P600M @1000VDC = 6 amp

========================================================

1N4001 = 50 VDC = 1 AMP
1N4002 = 100 VDC = 1 AMP
1N4003 = 200 VDC = 1 AMP
1N4004 = 400 VDC = 1 AMP
1N4005 = 600 VDC = 1 AMP
1N4007 = 1000 VDC = 1 AMP

my hid kit is not a dual beam... so that means that it will need feed from both the high beam and low beam... when u flick the high beams on and off the hid will just stay the same...

So you have basically attempted to wire the HID as your regular running lights. And your Hi-beams from your standard halogen bulbs to one another.

The current draw is too high... I would suggest to you that you wire each light fixture seperately to turn on independantly.

The same effect will be there. Both on when you wish it.

lolz... no i just wired it so that when i turned on my headlights, it would turn on (acting as normal headlights)... then if i flipped my highbeams on it will have the same power to the ballast thus still giving the hid power... just no difference in headlight brightness because it is not a dual beam kit... my car doesn't have daytime running lights like in canada...

that's what he just said - anytime your running lights (i.e. tail lights and front marker lights, not headlights) are on (which they are on anytime the headlights are on, reguardless of whether they are high or low beam).  the point is, what you need to do is instead of trying to hook those lights to the headlight circuit and overloading it, what you need to do is put a relay on the running light circuit, and feed the relay's switched power from a seperate and fused circuit going directly to the battery.  this is a super easy job - go to the section on relays on how to hook one up if you don't know how.

okay so fused 12v direct from battery and then switch is from headlight harness and then output to HID ballast.... i am pretty sure i got this right.. thanks.
