I recently installed a video/PS2 system and used some rocker switches with blue LEDs.  The problem is that the LEDs are much brighter than I would like.  How can I dim the LEDs?

Thanks.

reduce the current through them.. ie place a resistor in series with them...

Put resistors in line with the pos input for the led on the rocker switch like xetmes said, do it in incriments of 10 to 20 ohms to get the brightness that you want.

If want to be able to change the brightness of the LED, you can also place a variable resistor (pot) in series as well.

The first fixed resistor will be the *current limiting* resistor, the second (pot) will be used to vary the light output.

I did that to one of the main alarm LED's in my system because it was too blinding at a center viewing angle.
