How do I go about hooking up five l.e.d.s to a python alarm.  I have it so they all work but they are VERY dim.   Four of them are 3mm, 30mA, 6 volt max and the other is the one that comes with the alarm.

Any help would be greatly apreciated, Thank you

wire them in parallel, you'll need a regulated p.s to supply enough current to get all six to work properly....

When ever you wire up L.E.D.'s in seires you drop 2V every L.E.D. So what you need to do is get two more(hide them if you want) wire in series with a relay.

the one that comes with the alarm means that there is already a resistor either inside of the alarm box or attached to the stock LED - to add more LEDs you will have to use a transistor to get around this.

Guys.. easy solution.... just use a volt meter... your using wires behind the stereo there are many wires that will give off power but not the correct amount..

IF you want the lights to turn on with headlights just connect them to the fuse panel, or dimmer switch on car. The resistors are to protect the LEDS from burning out... they will work with any 12v power... can even connect them to your car battery direct and use a toggle... I got mine from https://store.yahoo.com/mobile-emotions/neonlights.html they are extremely cool, even added a few LED rods for under the seat.... totally hot looking.... also btw... another cool trick is using the non blinking LEDS and installing them in your dome... trick lighting when opening door...
