i have a 93 GMC Suburban, is there a way to add "auto-on" lights? i want my lights to come on with my truck and turn off with it aswell but i would also like to still be able to turn them on and off with the switch, is this asking too much, can it be done?

need to use a relay setup, lots of effort if you are not familiar with relays. look up relays and how they work ------------- MD

i found a kit on ebay "automatic headlights" will bring it up. so i got that, seems it should just be a few wires to connect and good to go. thanks.

Or just wire the power into the acc on your fusebox!

Acc on the fusebox isn't the best idea...headlights draw a bunch of current. You could do it with two relays and a 2 wire toggle switch, wired as follows:
Toggle switch - one side to ground, the other side to 85 from both relays
86 on each relay - ignition switched 12v+
87 on first relay - fused constant 12v+
30 on first relay - parking light wire
87 on second relay - fused constant 12v+
30 on second relay - headlight wire
The ideal source for your constant power would be the wires going to the light switch - use the headlight power wire for relay 2 and the park light power wire for relay 1...If you can't find that then use something fused at least at 40 amps for the headlights.
