Hello i was wondering i own a Directed D1200 amplifier and i wanted to run a Digital Audio 12" Dual Voice Coil 1000 watt subwoofer that can run with 2,4,& 8 ohm settings.  I was wondering can this amp handle this sun without over heating and if so how do i wire it to get the best sound out of it.  Thank you for your time.

Tinting the windows actually helps a little bit, even if it is a light tint. Either way, you should never just start blasting your stereo right away if your vehicle has been sitting in the sun for a given period of time. Proper ventilation of the amp should keep it working fine. You should also try to never put an amp in DIRECT sunlight...

The "best sound" would come from wiring at 8 ohms.

Your D1200 from directed isn't a real ball buster amp. The specs on it are terrible.

Your dual 4ohm sub should, and could be wired at 2 ohms. you'll get the most out of your amp.

If you wire that sub @ 8 ohms, that amp will give you about 200 watts.      This statement is NOT true.    The "best sound" would come from wiring at 8 ohms.
