Alright so i was planning on purchasing 2 alpine type R's with the dual 2 ohm coils. and i was going to get a hifonics amp but was told that it would draw to much energy and i dont have an efficcient alternator to use that amp. sooo i thought i may be able to have 2 kenwood 8103D amps and wire 1 to one sub and another to the other sub. So my question is will this still be drawing to much current from my cars electrical system? links below. also i believe my alternator is 80amp. Also if it will work with the 2 instead would i need an extra wiring kit because its using 2 amps?

First off, those addresses are to the same Kenwood amp.

Seondly, what kind of car do you have, model and year, please.

Thirdly, it is going to completely depend on what your ultimate load will be. (This is because the load will determine efficiency as well as power output.)

Either way, since your power output will be close to each other, your current demands are going to be close to the same... Just because you have two chassis, the output power will still require input power.

If your electrical system is inadequate, you have to update it, period. And, no, a cap is NOT updating your electrical system. You MUST upgrade your alternator.

Look at it this way... Your alternator is already loaded to roughly 80% JUST by the car and it's accessories. Manufacturers don't like to give any more than they HAVE to... It's expensive. 80% of 80A = 64A, leaving a 16A buffer.

16A * 14.4V = 230W
230W * .85 (if using a Class D amp) = 195.5 watts

What this means is that your electrical system will ONLY SUPPORT a 200W Class D amplifier, and smaller if Class A/B. This will load your alternator to 100% Anything more than that, and you will HAVE to upgrade your alternator. Ohm's Law, man!

That is definitely one of the more depressing things i have heard in my life haha... But i have a Honda Civic 97 LX.. and do you know anywhere i could get an alternator for that then?

HOAlternators should have one. They are NOT cheap, but they ARE good.

I got a 165A (hot rating) for my '01 Civic from them.

and also say after i do get the alternator would it still be possible to wire those 2 amps to those 2 subs. 1 to 1. and would i need an extra wiring kit if doing so

Yes. No. They will recommend the correct size wiring kit for you to connect your new alternator. From the battery, a single #4 to a distribution block will be fine.
