I have a JVC El Kameleon head unit running through RCAs to a Kicker KX 800.4 Amp to my Infinity interior speakers. The whole system worked great for about 2 months, then all of a sudden I heard a little distortion, some fading in and out, then nothing. The lights on the amp are coming on, but nothing is passing through. When I first turn on the radio, I hear static for about 2 seconds, then silence. I checked the ACV across the center and outside of the RCAs and nothing. What else can I do to verify that the problem lies within my head unit without doing a swap?

I believe that's the only way you can be sure.  You're either gonna have to swap the amp or swap the head unit in order to isolate your problem.  All you need to be able to do is plug the RCAs into a different source (discman with an adaptor cable would work).  If the amp gets sound and works alright then it's the head unit.
