In my opinion, when installed correctly, wire is wire(except home depot type power wire, that's kinda lame). Just make sure it is the correct gauge power wire that the amp needs.

if you're talking about scosche, go nuts, scosche is scosche, its what i use in my car, or rather "EFX" made by scosche, but if you're looking at buying some walmart brand wire or something i really don't know. i mean wire is wire, but you're better off buying stuff that is known to perform.

If you aren't looking to compete or are a fanatic I don't see why scosche shouldn't work.

Speaker and power wire can't be to much different. When you get into RCA I would be careful. Cheap RCA's can definitly cause system noise.
The thing about Wal-Mart is that the brand doesn't mean anything. Take Pioneer for example. I love Pioneer. Wal-Mart sells Pioneer, but you will NOT see a single product on the official Pioneer web site that's the same as what's being sold at Wally world. MY guess is that sosche is the same way. See if you can find the stuff you saw any were else.
The rumor is that brand names take there less than pefect parts (factory seconds) and make the products you see at WM. That last part is stricktly street rumor.

Hey I've found walmart to have some great products at really affordable prices. Just because walmart doesn't make a killing like the stereo shop, that doesn't mean that the product quality is any different. If that were the case then everyone would have the same exact prices on everything. Shops usually jack up prices, walmart will be more than happy to get a profit of $1 on one product and sell thousands of then and make up in volume what they don't make in markups..

Wow they sell a 4-gauge dual amp kit for 25 bucks!  That's unheard of!  I say go for it unless you're really obsessed about SQ or competing.  People won't know the difference, and you'll probably never be able to hear a difference.

I've always thought that in general, the installation itself plays a much bigger role in how good a system sounds, than what kind of cables are used.  As long as the power and signal wires are run down separate sides of the vehicle, and all the components are properly grounded, and you follow all other recommended installation procedures, it'll all sound the same to most people.

They do have some of the new pioneer decks (3500, 4500mp, and 6500) on the wal mart web site, though maybe they don't sell those models in the stores.  But yes I've never seen any of the other pioneers that they show on the wal mart site.

Certainly for most people, you can't go wrong with the install accessories there.  I mean think about it: isn't a wiring harness a wiring harness?  What's the point in going to a traditional store and paying $16.99 for a metra harness when you can get the exact same scosche harness for $6.94.  My guess is that WalMart is trying to attract more self-installers to buy their decks, and they figure charging only  a couple bucks for the required harness and dash kits will make the people more likely to shop there.  And the money lost by not marking up the install parts is made up for by the sales volume of the decks and speakers themselves...just my two cents though.

wal-mart has buying power! they can buy 20,000 amp kits reel cheap and just make 10% to 15% on them all and do very well. It's the same way with head units and speakers. Butt remember you get what you pay for. if something is real cheap it might not be what you really want. shop around too

Don't worry about all those people dissin wal-mart just because they sell cheaper than most places. Let them pay like 30 bills more for a similar wire that will perform the same. I personally couldn't believe my eyes either when I saw all the car audio stuff they had, or the prices!!! Wish I had seen this b4 I bought all my wiringposted_image Spend your money on things that matter, like speakers and amps.

Those WalMart scorche kits are the shizzo, but like thomas_51 said the RCA's you gotta be careful on, i did an install recently using those kits and I was very impressed with what you got for $25 (4gauge PW). Just make sure you keep the power clear away from the RCA b/c the ones in those kits aren't sheilded very well,

I am glad you said that's street rumor because Wal-Mart unfortunately for some small shops has the same Pioneer units/speakers as the shops. At least in WI they do. Now what Pioneer used to do was mass produce units for the bigger companies, using cheap components. I'm not sure if they do this anymore. If you see something that you want get it there and save some cash.
