I recently installed an after market cd player in an '02 nissan pathfinder, the hook up went well but the only sound i get through the speakers is the beep from changing tracks or stations, no music.  Is there something i overlooked?  Would the steering wheel controls be playing a part in this? Is there a way to connect steering wheel controls to the after market deck?

thanks for the info, it was a bose system and i had used the wrong wiring harness. my guess is the amp was not receiving power before. i also picked up and installed a steering wheel control interface, it all went well but the install was a little overwhelming at first.  in the end it all works.
