Subject: making box, and amp hook up?

Hello,
I have a few simple questions. The first is that Im going to make a simple sub box for my two 10" Kicker cvr. I read that you need to separate the two subs in the box. like this.
the dotted lines is wood in the box.

Also I have a 1200watt Orion HCCA-D1200. But Im not sure how to hook up my two kicker cvrs. I think they are dual 4ohm 400watts.

Would I just wire them to the two speaker + and -?
or do I hook them up parallel/parallel to 1ohm? like in the sub wire diagram.

Where on the amp do I put the wired down + and -?
Since the amp said its not bridgeable.
Do I just put it on any side (left or right)?

The amp is a one channel amplifier.  If it has 2 positive and 2 negative terminals, you decide which one you want to use.  Both positives are connected together inside the amp.  Same for the negative terminals.

Or if you insist on using all 4 terminals of the amp, wire each woofer as follows and connect one woofer to one set of terminals and the other woofer to the other set.

Option 1 (parallel) = 2 ohm load
Voice coils wired in parallel
Recommended Amplifier: Stable at 2 or 1 ohm mono

Oh I never got a answer to my first question. I totally forgot.
So when making a box for two 10" subs, do I need to put a wall inbetween the two?

Ok I read you dont NEED one just if one sub blows then there might be too much air in the box for it.

So looking around what is a good number of volume for 2 10" box?
I could only find for 1 10" box.

The make and model of the woofer has a lot to do with determining the box volume.

Ok I got the box all up.
Now I have a Alpine IVA-W205 double din. and in the back there are 3 sets of RED / white RCA ports (not including my 2 sets of AUX ports)

One set is marked "R" the other "L" and the other "SW"

Can I use anyone to hook up my amp?

They should be labeled F for Front   R for Rear and SW for your subwoofer amp.

Oh ok so hook it up to the SW slot?

Ok i hooked it up to the SW slot and started her up. Everything plays and the Amp has power, but nothing comes out of the subs.

The only thing wrong I can think of was wiring the subs.

Im not sure if it makes a difference. but instead of taking on wire from one sub terminal to the other than one wire going to the amp. I spliced the wires together.

So in stead of doing this

I did this

Is that why my subs arnt working?

Sub amp sub output yes, you may then have a level control on the head unit for the level of the sub. You may want to visit your local fabric store and buy some polymesh/batting and stuff the box with it. Its been known to help in sealed enclosures.

Oh also could I use a slightly smaller guage speaker wire to link the sub terminals together? I ran out of 12 gauge, and only have slightly smaller guage.

Same difference man, first you need to know if your sub amp is getting signal. Whats the model number to the subs and the amp? Is the sub output on the deck enabled? Deck settings can turn it off.

No No NO hehe   stick with 12. Your wire is only as strong as the weakest link. If your box has terminals and 12ga is inside the box, then you can run 10ga from the box to the amp but thats one of very few exceptions.

The subwoofer output may need to be enabled on the deck.  And it has an adjustable level controller also.  It too may need to be turned up.   Try temporarily connecting your amp to the rear outputs.  If it plays now, the problem is the sub output of the deck.  If it does not play, there is a problem with the amp, woofer or the wiring between them.

My amp is getting power, and on my deck I set my "subwoofer" to +4 but still no sound from the woofer.

Oh ok well as long as my wire tapping is fine, I have enough wire. haha

Ok i hooked it up to the R slot.
And I feel the sub moving, but its so soft, its like stock output.
I tried to rise the bass levels but still soft.
I have no idea whats wrong

Ok so I want to try this one and see if it works

But would it be ok to tap them together at the amp terminal? so I dont need to splice any wires again.

Ok I tried that way ^
but still the same.

if I turn the gain kind of low I cant feel the subs moving at all.

I dont understand...

I dont know what settings to use on the amp.

I also hooked it up to the "SW" on my deck and it worked and I was able to control it but it was still very soft.

This is what it hooked up

Connect only one voice coil of one woofer to the amp.  Does it play?
