im trying to put in a new stereo, i looked at the wiring diagram for my car and it mentions no red wire, though there is one in mine...

There is a red wire on your new radio harness? Or is there a red wire in your vehicle's harness?

Anyways did you purchase a harness to aid with the install?

Metra states the harness as a 70-1858, for standard or monsoon systems.

we need a little more info the fully help you.
